ESTATES CLERK

LLF LAWYERS LLP  seeks to employ a professional Estates Clerk, preferably having a minimum of five years experience, to join our expanding Peterborough practice.

The ideal candidate will manage the administration of estates with minimal supervision, including, among others, the following:

  • Secure and organize required and relevant estate information from clients and institutions;
  • Prepare, complete and file Applications for Certificates of Appointment of Estate Trustees, including service of related documentation to all required parties;
  • Complete and file life insurance claims and pension/employee benefits;
  • Liquidate and transfer assets;
  • File income tax returns for the deceased/estate and obtain CRA clearances;
  • Prepare Estate Trustee accounts in informal and passing form; and
  • Originate and prepare correspondence and necessary documentation and communications.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work independently, accurately and efficiently on multiple files;
  • Establish priority of assigned and required tasks and manage accordingly;
  • Possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Be proficient in Office 365, PCLaw and Estate Administration software; and
  • Multi-task and work well in a busy and growing practice.

SENIOR REAL ESTATE CLERK

LLF LAWYERS LLP seeks an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk to join our growing Peterborough team.

The ideal candidate will be able to handle commercial and residential real estate transactions from start to finish, including drafting documents and correspondence, billing and reporting.   Experience working with builders and developers is an asset.

The successful candidate must have the following skill set:

  • An ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently on multiple files simultaneously;
  • Ability to discern priority of assigned tasks and to act accordingly;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Proficiency in Office 365, Conveyancer, Teraview/E-Reg and PCLaw;
  • Experience in municipal law is an asset.
